THE ARTIST

Berenika Drazewska is a full-time artist and member of the Singapore Watercolour Society. Through plein air sketching and watercolour painting, she explores the feelings and atmosphere that make each location unique.
Berenika sees painting as a subtle non-verbal language that speaks to the depth of feeling stirred by the beauty of the natural world. Rooted in the figurative painting tradition, Berenika’s paintings explore ephemeral light across a range of painting media: watercolours, oils, acrylics and soft pastels. Relying on a sense of space and gently disappearing edges, she evokes the poetry of flickering light and shadow. Her process is highly intuitive, grounded in deep introspection and a fascination with pigments and the material qualities of paint
