Gala Dinner – Together for Ukraine

Together for Ukraine was the motto of the charity gala organized on May 19 on the initiative of the Polish community under the honorary patronage of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Magdalena Bogdziewicz

The event gathered nearly 150 guests both from the Polish and Ukrainian communities, as well as Singaporean and international business circles, EU Ambassador Iwona Piórko, representatives of the EU member states and the guest of honor – Ambassador of Ukraine Kateryna Zelenko.

There were many Polish and Ukrainian cultural elements during the gala including Polish folk dances by the Silent Stars Singapore band and performances by the Ukrainian musicians Red Kalyna and students String Quartet from the American Stamford International School.

Guest could also buy Polish and Ukrainian handicrafts, including famous Ukrainian embroidered shirts and Polish amber jewelry.

There was also a charity auction with many attractive items just to mention a Polish national team T-shirt signed by Robert Lewandowski and a plane ticket to Europe.

The entire amount collected during the gala dinner (over 22 000 SGD) will be donated to the Ukraine Alive Foundation and Project Unity for organizing a summer camp for orphaned Ukrainian children whose parents died during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Gala Dinner Together for Ukraine organized by a Polish entity – “Best of Poland” was part of the Polish Heritage Days celebrations in Singapore – a series of events organized with the participation of the Polish community around the world promoting and celebrating Polish culture, the heritage of past generations, and Polish contribution to the cultural, economic, and social life.
